Growing Ideas from first principle, designs grown from or embodying ideas, all self consistent to the logic of the fantasy world they reside in are the concepts I strive to produce.
Combined with this is the communication required of the design, particularly in terms of gameplay in the case of Games.Also important is the emotive value of a design in this communication to engage the end user and enable them to identify, invest and immerse in the ideas .
Concept design is not fantasy art but there is a crossover in terms of ideas and creativity. Fantasy art does not have the same production requirements restricting its form.
